Product Overview
A primary winding (few turns, connected in series with the high-current circuit) and a secondary winding (many turns, coupled to safety or measurement devices) make up a CT, which operates by electromagnetic induction. The secondary winding, which is usually standardized to 5A or 1A for the majority of industrial applications, receives a proportionally low current while the primary winding receives a big current.
