China FZ Series Current Transformer - Reliable Power Monitoring Solutions from Top Suppliers and Factory
Product Overview
A Current Transformer (CT) uses electromagnetic induction and contains two windings: a primary winding with a few turns connected in series to the high-current circuit, and a secondary winding with numerous turns connected to safety or measurement devices.
The primary winding receives a large current, while the secondary winding is typically tuned to 5A or 1A for industrial applications. This proportionality enables precise monitoring.
CTs protect personnel and equipment from potentially harmful voltages by isolating measurement tools from high-voltage primary circuits.
CTs require high linearity to reduce measurement error, high precision for energy metering, and robust insulation between windings.
CRITICAL SAFETY NOTE: Never leave the secondary winding open circuit when using a CT. Extremely high voltages produced by an open circuit can damage electrical equipment and pose severe safety risks.
Lastly, current transformers are essential to guaranteeing the dependability, effectiveness, and safety of contemporary electrical systems since they allow for more accurate current monitoring and enhanced problem identification.
